Terms and Conditions of Invictus Jiu-Jitsu
Welcome to Invictus Jiu-Jitsu. By becoming a member or participating in any classes, events, or activities hosted by Invictus Jiu-Jitsu (“the Club”), you agree to comply with the following terms and conditions. These terms are set to ensure the safety, respect, and enjoyment of all members and staff.
1. General Membership and Participation
1.1. All members must complete the registration process, which includes providing accurate personal details, prior to participating in any classes or training sessions.
1.2. Membership is non-transferable and may be suspended or terminated by the Club at its discretion if any breaches of these terms occur.
1.3. Members are expected to follow the instructions of instructors and staff at all times during classes to ensure the safety of all participants.
1.4. Members are required to inform the instructor of any medical conditions, injuries, or concerns prior to the start of the class. This ensures that the necessary precautions can be taken during training.
1.5. All participants must wear appropriate training attire, which includes a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gi (kimono) or no-gi gear (as required). The attire must be clean and in good condition to maintain the safety and hygiene of the mats.
2. Code of Conduct
2.1. All members are expected to treat one another, instructors, and staff with respect and courtesy at all times.
2.2. Aggressive or abusive behaviour, whether verbal or physical, will not be tolerated and may result in immediate suspension or termination of membership.
2.3. The use of offensive language, inappropriate conduct, or unsportsmanlike behaviour is prohibited during all classes and events organised by the Club.
2.4. Members must adhere to the rules of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as taught at Invictus Jiu-Jitsu. Misuse of techniques in an unsafe manner may lead to immediate disciplinary action, including expulsion from the class.
3. Health, Hygiene, and Skin Infections
3.1. Personal Hygiene
To ensure the safety, cleanliness, and comfort of all members, strict hygiene standards must be maintained at all times:

4.1. I, the undersigned, understand that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a contact sport that involves physical exertion and carries inherent risks, including but not limited to sprains, strains, fractures, concussions, and other physical injuries. I acknowledge that participation in any activities at Invictus Jiu-Jitsu is voluntary and at my own risk.
5. Release of Liability
5.1. I hereby release, waive, and discharge Invictus Jiu-Jitsu, its owners, instructors, employees, agents, and volunteers from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or rights of action, which are related to, arise out of, or are in any way connected with my participation in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or other activities offered by the club, including injuries that may be caused by negligence.
6. Medical Fitness
6.1. I certify that I am in good health and have no physical conditions that would affect my ability to safely participate in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I agree to inform Invictus Jiu-Jitsu of any medical conditions, allergies, or injuries that could affect my participation.
7. Consent for Emergency Medical Treatment
7.1. In the event of an emergency, I consent to the administration of first aid and/or medical treatment as deemed necessary by the staff of Invictus Jiu-Jitsu. I understand that all costs associated with medical treatment are my responsibility.
8. Media and Photography Consent
8.1. I give my consent for Invictus Jiu-Jitsu to take and use photographs, videos, and other media of me/my child during classes, events, and training sessions for promotional purposes, including but not limited to, social media, the club’s website, marketing materials, and publications.

9.1. I, as the parent or legal guardian of the named child, give my full consent for their participation in Invictus Jiu-Jitsu activities. I agree to the terms outlined in this waiver, including the release of liability and media consent.
10. Data Protection
10.1. Invictus Jiu-Jitsu is committed to protecting your personal data. Your information will be used solely for club purposes and will not be shared with third parties without your consent, except as required by law.
11.1. Invictus Jiu-Jitsu may use WhatsApp as a communication channel to inform parents and members about class schedules, events, and other relevant information.
11.2. By agreeing to these terms, members and parents’ consent to their mobile numbers being used to add them to the appropriate WhatsApp group(s) for communication purposes.
11.3. The Club is not responsible for the use of members’ or parents’ contact details within the WhatsApp platform, nor for the content shared within the group by other participants.
11.4. If any member or parent wishes to be removed from the WhatsApp group(s) or not take part in this form of communication, they must request removal by contacting the Club directly. Upon such a request, the member or parent will be promptly removed.
11.5. By accepting these terms, members and parents acknowledge and agree to the use of their data for the purposes of being added to WhatsApp group(s) and understand that WhatsApp’s data policies are governed by WhatsApp itself, not the Club.
12.1. The Club will make every effort to ensure classes run as scheduled. However, due to unforeseen circumstances such as instructor illness, adverse weather conditions, or emergencies, classes may be cancelled or rescheduled with short notice.
12.2. The Club will notify members of any cancellations or changes via the website, email, or social media platforms as soon as possible.
12.3. While we strive to minimise disruption to the schedule, the Club is not liable for any inconvenience or loss caused by class cancellations or changes.
13.1. Invictus Jiu-Jitsu is not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of personal property brought onto the premises, including items left in changing rooms, training areas, or elsewhere on the property.
13.2. Members are encouraged to keep valuable personal items with them at all times or store them in a secure location. The Club is not liable for any personal property left unattended or misplaced.
14.1. Every member will acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to all the terms of this waiver. They are aware that this is a release of liability and a contract between them and Invictus Jiu-Jitsu. They understand that by signing the agreement, they are waiving certain legal rights, including the right to sue.
